Fire safety week

Last week was Fire Safety week at CCE! We started our day off reading Miss Mingo and the Fire Drill.

Our Scholastic Weekly Readers was all about Firefighter school!

Then the kids got to talk to the firefighters about fire safety and practice climbing safely out of a window!

The best part was DEFINITELY the fire truck tour!

Place value

Today we learned about place value! Students were give a bag full of cubes and told to make as many ten sticks as they could. Then count the ten sticks and the leftover cubes. We then recorded our findings on whiteboards! We are learning to show that 2 digit numbers are composed of tens and ones and can be written in expanded form like this...

25 is made up of 2 tens and 5 ones

25=20+5

Operation Boo!

Operation BOO is all about spreading smiles through our school! Students donated goodies to fill up our BOO bags so that we could surprise other classes with them! They were so excited to make others happy and the sneaking around the school was fun too!

Each group of kiddos had a mission...deliver their bag of goodies...without being seen!

Aren't they the cutest ninjas ever? 

I have no idea how we didn't get busted! There was nothing sneaky about these kiddos flying down the hall! They had fun though and experienced the joy of giving without recieving!
